PhD is the current President and CEO of Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium
located in Sarasota, Florida. He was appointed to his current position in May
2013 after serving the prior three years as Senior Vice President for Research.
He previously worked at George Mason University and the University of Hawaii.
Other executive positions were based at the National Science Board, the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the U.S. Agency for
International Development, University of South Carolina, Coastal Carolina
University, Salisbury State University, National Marine Fisheries Services,
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Cancer Institute. He earned his
BS and MS Degree in Biology from Old Dominion University and a PhD in
Marine-Estuarine-Environmental Sciences at the University of Maryland. Learn
