Ahmad Osman Mal is Associate Professor at Marine Biology Department and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the Faculty of Marine Sciences, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, KSA. Ahmad has research interests in fish physiology and ecology and its applications. Besides, he is interested in anthropogenic effects to the environment. He is teaching several courses in Fish ecology, marine biodiversity and biostatistics.
He began his career with a B.S. in Marine Biology from the Marine Sciences Institute, King Abdulaziz University. After working as a Demonstrator (Teaching Assistant) at the same university for one year, he earned a scholarship to complete his graduate studies (MSc & PhD) at the USA. He received his MSc (1986) & PhD (1991) from the Fisheries School at University of Washington, Seattle, Wa., USA. He participated in many small scales to large scale (strategic and international cooperation) research projects throughout his career. He was appointed several academic and administrative positions at the University. He is a certified trainer and a certified specialist for Classification and Rating of Training Packages.
